# Tamer Avatars

### 🎮 Game Tamer Assets (Web2)

* **What they are:**\
  Layered, customizable avatar parts used to visually represent the player in-game.
* **Quantity:**\
  1000+ different Web2 tamer asset variations.
* **How to obtain:**\
  Spend [ESSENCE ](/fracctal-tcg/basics/currencies.md)(the in-game soft currency) to unlock them.
* **Features:**
  * Non-NFT (Web2 only)
  * Cannot be traded, sold, or minted
  * Players can mix and match different layers (e.g. hair, outfits, accessories)
  * Intended for cosmetic expression without blockchain interaction
* **Best for:**\
  Free-to-play and non-crypto players who want visual customization.

### 🧿 Tamer NFTs (Web3 - Algorand)

* **What they are:**\
  Prefabricated, ARC19 avatar NFTs minted on the **Algorand blockchain**.
* **How to obtain:**\
  Purchase from or sell on the **FM Marketplace**.
* **Features:**
  * Verified NFT representation
  * Fixed prefab appearance (ARC19 customizable)
  * Display an exclusive **OG badge** in the TCG when equipped
  * Automatically linked to your avatar profile if owned in your connected wallet
* **Additional utility:**
  * Can be used across both **Fracctal TCG** and the **Fracctal Monsters ecosystem**.
  * Tamer NFTs support **ARC19 visual customization**, allowing players to acquire **Tamer Cosmetic NFTs** that upgrade or modify their avatar’s appearance (e.g. alternate outfits, hats, etc.).\
    These upgrades are blockchain-based and managed entirely through the **FM website**.
* **Best for:**\
  Players who want on-chain ownership, visual prestige, and marketplace liquidity.
